Name: Stacey Cambre on Jan 14, 2013Comments: As a younger family DH is making it impossible to afford to live here. Not only have our property taxes gone sky high so has our car tags and homeowner insurance. To make matters wrose we still have POA dues! I guess that's ok though since the lowered them by 15 dollar's each month! Diamondhead is a big joke right now and it's not worth living here anymore! It has to be the most expensive neighborhood on the coast!Flag

Name: Bob Ragsdale on Jan 14, 2013Comments: There was never a legitimate "need" to incorporate Diamondhead. It was simply a "want" by some who wanted positions of authority and control. We did not need to be a city then and we don't need to be a city now. Lets put all those tax dollars back in the pockets of the residents.Flag

Name: Robert Lehmann on Jan 14, 2013Comments: We now have a mayor, city planner, policemen, and a bevy of salaries and benefits to support. I have no idea who they are, or how much they make, but Diamondhead has now become a worse place to live. The new sourse of revenue to pay for these expenses is Diamondhead residents through never ending fines and traffic tickets. Let's get rid of all of them. Didn't need them before, don'e need them now.Flag

Name: Bruce Frallic on Jan 16, 2013Comments: D'head became a city for the worng reasons, and now we are paying the price. Before incorporation, we had all the necessasary services- sewer, water, communications, police from the County, street repairs, voting rights, diversity and all this without a new tax burden. Annexation was not a threat because no aspect of the "reasonableness" criteria could be proven. But because we are a city, I now pay nearly $1000 more in annual taxes, yet I have no more services than before, and I still pay the POA dues. I wish that the law had provided for a public vote on this issue. I do not think that it would have passed.Flag

ALONG WITH ''SELF APPOINTED '', CITY LEADERS , HA HA I KNOW THIS AMERICA, BUT LET'S GET REAL. SO WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WHEN FEDERAL GOVT. SAYS YOU GONNA HAVE TO HAVE LOW INCOME HOUSING , WELL GUESS WHAT WE GONNA HAVE TO BITE THE ''BULLET''. LET'S RETURN TO OUR COMMUNITY WE HAD BEFORE AND ALLOW US TO LIVE ON OUR SET RETIREMENT INCOME AND NOT STRUGGLE TO SURVIVE ON THE LIES THAT WERE GIVEN TO US BY OUR ''SELF APPOINTED'' LEADERS.Flag

Name: Michael Ann Knight on Jan 17, 2013Comments: I agree with all the above. "The city has run up exorbitant and unnecessary expenses resulting in higher taxes and fees. It is therefore resolve that the city of Diamondhead be dissolved." It was supposed to be "FOR THE BETTER", but it isn't. Everyone is complaining. We are being charged POA & City taxes. How can you do this. It should be one or the other. By law how can it be both.Flag
