Please pay attention, City Council, and help rid our city of unhealthy air and unattractive litter by supporting a non-smoking ordinance. Thank you. |

Christina Conte Wartinbee | Many times when my family and I would like to enjoy a patio area of a restaurant or any outdoor eating area, we are unable to due to the majority of diners who are smoking. I support a smoke free Glendale.
Heather Lipari | Hugely support a "smoke free" Glendale. I'm especially tired of walking through a cloud of smoke every time I visit my favorite Starbucks.

Leanne Reynolds | Cigarettes don't belong in playgrounds, parks or out door restaurants. I love eating outside & can't do this when smokers take over the patio areas!
Anita Weaver | I support this legislation! Let's join the list of enlightened cities that care about the health of their citizens and the ambience of their outdoor spaces!

Anonymous | There are so many babies and small children at the park, this is certainly a health hazard and a big concern for me when I use the park. Sometimes there are too many young men and boys with nothing better to do than sit around an smoke. I have left the park on several occasions due to the amount of smokers. I love our park, it's a shame to let a few ruin it.

Anonymous | It is time to ban smoking in public areas. Liberties such as "no smoking within 25 feet" allow to much lienancy for loose interpretation. No is no, not "well I didn't know".
Heather | My children's lungs shouldn't suffer for your choices.
Iris Christian | I strongly support your efforts to have a smoke free Glendale. Other cities have done it and so can we. Those who want to smoke may do so in their own homes. I believe one day we will have a universal smoke free public.

It is high time Glendale joins other cities who have become smoke free. I only wish we had the support of our Mayor!! |
Philip Keller | We've all had enough of these inconsiderate smokers who freely pollute Glendale with their smoke & cigarette butts.

Carol Bartholemy | Where I work in Calabasas has adopted a smoke free policy that seems to be working very well. Perhaps the city could use that as a guide.

L. Eugene Dudley | I strongly support the efforts to create a "smoke free" Glendale. While I recognize and appreciate the rights of smokers to indulge their habit, cigarette smoke poses unique problems for those of us who suffer from various types of lung diseases. I have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and smoke exacerbates my condition severely. I have to avoid situations where I will expect to encounter second hand smoke (outdoor dining patios, closed-in passageways such as the Marketplace in downtown Glendale, etc.). I do not expect the world to adjust to my condition; however, creating specific outdoor smoking areas that are readily recognizable and avoidable by people like me would be extremely helpful. Hopefully, the Glendale City Council will consider this matter seriously and join forces with Calabassas, Burbank and other southland municipalities that have addressed this issue.
Paul W. Phillips | I have children and it makes me crazy that you can't go into any public building in Glendale without walking through the wall of smoke created by all the people standing 2 feet from the entrance smoking like chimneys.
