Name: Sher Bauer on Nov 25, 2007Comments: Why the town board or the NYSDOT want to use millions of dollars to expand the inbound right lane of the bridge is a MYSTERY and should be discussed. All future plans for Chappaqua should be presented to the public and placed "on top of the table" since tax money is being used. This expansion-plan will NOT alleviate the confusion and chaos experienced by drivers (residents + visitors) when they enter ......the Chappaqua-Triangle.....similar to the Bermuda-Triangle in that money goes in and is never seen again!Flag

Name: Mark LePage on Nov 25, 2007Comments: When we drive past the duck pond and into town, my kids start to wiggle in their seats. They push their faces against the glass and eagerly await the point on the bridge where they may look out the windows and view, what looks like, all of Chappaqua through the open ironwork of the bridge's guardrails. If the bridge is rebuilt using the current DOT design, future generations of Chappaqua children (as well as adults) will miss out on the opportunity to experience Chappaqua through the open rails. It is my hope that the Town Board and NYSDOT may reconsider the plans for the bridge, and that the historic character of the hamlet's gateway might be preserved.Flag

Name: Kazuko Ono on Nov 26, 2007Comments: After attending a meeting with many visuals presented by Chuck Napoli, it seems to me we must consider his plan. Congestion seems limited to certain school hours. I know since I am one of the many cars taking my children to school on some days, or picking up. The present plan does not fit with the needs or design of Chappaqua, nor do I think it will resolve the congestion. How about the future of Chappaqua I think it will take away from our character which so many small communities are loosing. Let's not fall prey to quick actions without full participation with the people of our community. Thank You for your consideration. Kazuko OnoFlag

Name: Alexandre Eichenberger on Nov 27, 2007Comments: A solution that decreases the amount of car and increases the space avail for walking would make the hamlet significantly more enjoyable. The bridge project would be the perfect time to review the entire traffic pattern; unfortunately, this has not been the case.Flag

What would we discover if we pursued a planning strategy that fit the context small and What qalities would we endorse to achieve a vigorous economy with-in the context Small TownFlag

Name: Phil Mitchell on Nov 28, 2007Comments: Safety, both vehicular and pedestrian, should be the town's primary goal. This proposal does nothing to improve safety. As long as there is the extensive cross traffic, that is inherent with the triangle, there will be congestion and resulting safety issues.Flag
