If they want to get it, they will get it, whether its a grocery store or a beer store. That is one of the most ridiiculous reasons for selling beer in a "beer store". Do you think the public are idiots All that is happening here is people are getting gouged. When I visit Quebec, I bring home beer from there, and when friends come to visit from Quebec, they bring some. Its a lot cheaper than buying it here. Smarten up, because the people have and are fed up of being robbed.

Which ever way you consider this issue a monopoly is no good for consumers or the economy. True and fair competition in the beer market on the other hand is necessary to drive down prices, improve choice and to make the quality of the beer better! You might even find that this helps to generate employment in Ontarion in the long run! I would also point out that any profit from the current monopoly situation is taken as a withdrawal from our economy. Why should our money go abroad when the monopoly purports to sell us "Canadian" beer
