Comments: Being originally from Quebec, where beer is sold everywhere, I know it did not increase underage kids to drink. If they want to get it, they will get it, whether its a grocery store or a beer store. That is one of the most ridiiculous reasons for selling beer in a "beer store". Do you think the public are idiots All that is happening here is people are getting gouged. When I visit Quebec, I bring home beer from there, and when friends come to visit from Quebec, they bring some. Its a lot cheaper than buying it here. Smarten up, because the people have and are fed up of being robbed.

Comments: Changes are long overdue. Lineups at my local beer store on weekends and holidays remind me of the lineups of citizens in the old Soviet Union waiting for their weekly allocation of bread to be doled out by the powers that be.

Comments: It is thoroughly unrealistic to allow a monopoly to exist in the manner that the Beer Store does, what makes it worse is that it is foreign owned. Which ever way you consider this issue a monopoly is no good for consumers or the economy. True and fair competition in the beer market on the other hand is necessary to drive down prices, improve choice and to make the quality of the beer better! You might even find that this helps to generate employment in Ontarion in the long run! I would also point out that any profit from the current monopoly situation is taken as a withdrawal from our economy. Why should our money go abroad when the monopoly purports to sell us "Canadian" beer

Comments: If concerns for a responsible retailer arise, look at the "off license" in Ireland, maintained by grocery stores and pubs. This achieves the same goal, without limiting consumers to one localized outlet.

Comments: I actually have no issue with beer and wine not being available in corner stores - it's this monopoly that's always bothered me. I don't believe the small breweries are getting a fair deal.

Comments: As usual, the people of Ontario are far ahead of the government when it is time to reform an anachronistic situation, End the duopoly of the Beer Store, and have faith in the common sense of the public.

Comments: It's time to change the way we sell Beer and Wine in Ontario. We are now in the 21st century and other provinces and countries have been selling beer and wine in grocery and convenience stores in the previous century without too many difficulties.

Comments: Beer should be sold in corner stores & Grocery stores as well as at local pubs for take home sales. This is how it is sold in other Canadian provinces and for a lower price due to the extra compitition. The Beer store should not have a monopoly.
