151 Steven Treiberit's about time. that a private company could have a monopoly on such a valuable service has always irked me, but when that company is owned by foreign companies I am outraged.

153 Endre LadanyiWay to go.
154 Brad LaFlammeYou know there is a problem when you can buy imported Canadian beer in the USA for 1/2 the price it costs us here at home even after the exchange!
155 Ralph CampbellThe present system is just wrong.

167 Grant PadleyThis has to stop. We pay 25% more for the same product in Ontario as in other provinces. It's a monopoly plain and simple. How Molson and InBev get away with this is beyond reason.

169 Hamish JohnstonWhile I agree that the Brewer's Retail should be scrapped, be careful what you wish for. If all other things remain equal, I'm guessing that privatization would boost the price of beer. The reason being that the Beer Store has an extremely efficient distribution network - namely its customers, who often have to drive miles to buy beer. The extra cost of getting the product to thousands of corner stores and supermarkets (instead of hundreds of Beer Stores) would have to be paid by someone - and taxes, which already comprise the bulk of the cost of beer would remain the same.

171 Michael McPhersonThe sky hasn't fallen in Quebec or New York state. Indeed, in New York the drinking age is 21 and corner stores distribute the beer responsibly. It's time to end the Beer Store monopoly.

179 Philliip McDowellThe craft brewery movement in the United States has exploded in the past decade and has given an unique culture to regions who produce them. This has been halted in Canada, not just Ontario, due to the Beer Store. Also the $2.5Billion dollars is going into large forign owned corporations instead of Ontario brewers. It's time to put the money back into Ontario.
180 Michel GravelI fully support your initiative and will help any way I can. There are way too many monopoly of all sorts in Ontario. It's time for it's habitant to open their eyes. Michel

188 Stan SchurmanLet's get rid of this anachronistic, paternalistic monopoly. The notion that selling beer and wine in corner stores is somehow dangerous is a red herring. It has been done successfully in Quebec and in the U.S. for decades.
