Name: Jon Resnick Resnick on Aug 3, 2002State: OHCountry: USComments: Ilive in cleveland.I have been a Indians fan since the days of "Sudden" Sam,Rocky c., Leon Wagner. My father tells me stories from the time when Bob Feller was a rookie. This city went through a couple of generations of loosing teams. We finally got a owner that cared and spent money on developing a good minor league and a winning team up here. We had a decade of good baseball. But we have gotten shafted again. Mr. Jacobs sold the team to a owner like the days when I was a kid. He has desmantled the winning core of the team.He claims he does not have the money. What a JOKE that is.All these teams are toys to these guys and status symbols. We the fans are the ones who suffer at their expense. The player are not any better. They do not care about the fans. They go for the money. There are only a handful of player like Girby Pucket, George Brett,or Tony Gwynn who even think about staying with the same team. How many players are like Mark McGuire who works with the kids in their town for a cause and not the money. I know those guy make a lot more than I'll ever see, but they care about the fans. They could have gone somewhere else and made alot more money. Some of todays players don't even know who some of the greats of the past. We the fans need to make a statement some how. These player and owners have to learn without us there would be no them. GOOD LUCK A fan that wants good baseball back in town. Jon Resnick ClevelandFlag

Name: John Tackitt on Aug 7, 2002State: AZCountry: USComments: I have been a baseball fan since I was 8 years old, watching and playing little league baseball. If I could play in the major league I would play for food money. I have been a member of the armed forces for 20 years and it makes me sick to see the baseball going on strike. What if the armed forces went on strike I think we as fans should strike until baseball players sign agreement to never strike and owners to never lock out the players and the fans will sign a agreement to never strike. Baseball fans should strike until we have the players and owners sign a agreement with fans to never strike and the owners to never lock out the players.Flag

I have friends that are deputies, firemen, nurses, etc.... Think about what careers are most important and the pay that they get. Where are our priorities as a society. If the players strike one day... I will strike MLB for one year minimum. Not only that, but a friend of mine is organizing an e-mail pyramid. He e-mails 10 people. Each of us e-mails 10 people...and so on. We are asking people to join a one-year strike.Flag

But another strike I love baseball more than anything in this world, but if the players walk out on August 30, so do I. I'm done with this trash.Flag
