We at 'The Westminster Society for people with learning disabilities' have just a few days left to get your signature of support before the consultation period closes on Wednesday 8th December 2010.

Westminster City Council is proposing to cut support to people with learning disabilities who have ‘Moderate’ needs.

The Council say this would apply to someone who is;

  • Unable to carry out several personal care or domestic routines and/or - Unable to sustain several aspects of work, education or employment and/or
  • Unable to sustain social support and relationships and/or
  • Unable to undertake family and social roles and responsibilities If these proposals go ahead people who live locally and are assessed as ‘moderate’ will not be provided with support to help them to live safe healthy lives, have friendships and relationships, learn new skills to be more independent and be active members of our community.

Please sign this petition to call for Westminster City Council to reconsider their proposal and continue to support people throughout their lifetime as they have done so successfully until now.
