Colin Chow | Why bother? Educated consumers know what a vatted malt is.
Linda Jackson | To most people blended malt means those mixed with grain,it should remain as vatted.
Pascal Vandepitte | to much confision. Vatted Malt is much clearer.
Emmanuel Girardeau | Lawyers and magistrates know how to make things more incomprehensible for the average consumer, who is the larger consumer of "blended whisky"...What do they want? Please keep the traditional label and that's all. NO TO BLENDED MALT SCOTCH WHISKY!!!

Nigel Johnson | While the rest of Europe seek to protect and enhance the uniqueness of their own 'appellation' the UK govt yet again meekly follows the wishes of the multi-national conglomerates.
Mark Barton |
| 1138 | Stuart Rivans | This is a very, very worrying development.
Those advocating its merits should be stopped at all cost. |
John Collins | This goes for all Scots in New Zealand that love their Dram.
Cliff Norman | This has to be one of the most ludicrous proposals I have ever heard of in my life. I have to ask what utter stupidity motivated this proposal? the only thing I can say is a profound "NO" to the nonsensical "BLENDED MALT SCOTCH WHISKY"
Euan Campbell | This is simply a dumbing down of terms that already provided a clear definition. For those interested in Whisky, the term "vatted malt" is not confusing. What is confusing to the average consumer is a blurring of the lines between blended scotch and vatted malts. Also, people who don't know the difference obviously couldn't care which type of Whisky they drink, a probably don't even know the definition of a single malt.
