John LamondThe term "blended malt" has no history. The SWA, in attempting to clarify things in the mind of the consumer, will only serve to confuse the consumer further.
Brian KellyThere's nothing like a group of so called 'experts' (SWA) to cause confusion and mayhem. Common sense should prevail and the majority (consumer) voice listened to - NO TO BLENDED MALT! The industry will have a hard enough time in the economic gloom ahead without adding to the confusion.

Peter MarcusYou folks at the SWA are running head long to make a muddle of the traditional current descriptive language and terminology. For heavens sake, sit your bums down, put you hands in your laps and stop making a mess of things. You'll still be paid.
Kenneth ShawWhy change it when its not broken!!
AnonymousWhy confuse the consumer more?
AnonymousWorking in a Scotch Whiky Importer in Japan, I just cannot accept the expression of BLENDED MALT as it is too ugly. The words of Scotch Whisky should stay beautiful to represent its historial background and passion of all the people who have been spending thier lives for Scotch Whisky. I caanot feel anything from BLENDED MALT. It doesn't come to me.
Anonymouswe are finally winning customers to single malt wkisky and you wan't to give the producers a chance to muddy the waters . The cynic in me says this is all about raising revenues.

Lars Jönsson

Bruce FerrierJust DON'T do this - get real guys...it's hard enough to get the 'average Joe' aware of what the various scotch whiskies are as is, without throwing this in to the ring!!F Bruce ferrier
AnonymousThe term 'Blended Malt Scotch Whisky' is an unnecessary addition to the whisky lexicon and will create even further confusion in the minds of a largely ill-informed public. Please do not encourage the use of this expression.
Anonymousdo not mess about with the malt we dont want blended malt whisky
Stuart RitchieWhat are you thinking. This is surely some attempt to strike back at the re-institution of the Scots individuality and parliament after 600 years in the wilderness. In all seriousness, leave well enough alone. Regards. Stuart Ritchie.
