The aim of this petition is to oppose the planned Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation centre on Clayton Road, Newcastle Under Lyme.
By completing this petition you are supporting and showing your objections to the plans of turning Orchard House on Clayton Road, Newcastle Under Lyme into a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre.
Staffordshire County Council have recently accepted an offer from The Burton Addiction Centre (BAC), Burton on Trent to use the current properties on the site for a Rehab and Therapy centre that will home people with Drug and Alcohol dependencies. The site will be residential and also there are plans to create a “Drop in” centre for people from all over the Staffordshire area.
Newcastle-Under-Lyme Borough council were not informed by Staffordshire County Council of these plans and consequently had no time to object to this proposal for the existing site on Clayton Road.
As you are probably aware Clayton Road and the surrounding areas have large residential communities with numerous schools and children’s play areas in the nearby vicinity to the planned site for a Drug and Alcohol Rehab centre.

ANYONE OBJECTING TO THE BAC COMING TO THIS AREA, PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW PETITION
• THIS PROPOSAL WILL NOT NEED PLANNING PERMISSION
• THERE IS NOTHING TO STOP IT OPENING AS A DROP IN CENTRE, ALLOWING PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER SATFFORDSHIRE TO SEEK REHABILITATION
• THE LYME VALLEY PARK AND A NUMBER OF SCHOOLS ARE IN VERY CLOSE PROXIMITY
• NEWCASTLE BOROUGH COUNCIL WERE NOT CONSULTED
• LOCAL RESIDENTS HAVE NOT BEEN INFORMED
