Sean R. Hair DMD | There are more effective less expensive ways to address access to care issues. This is a gross abuse of public funding.

Eric Moskowitz, DDS |
David H. Kwon | I'm concerned by the fact that our own Dental Society has decided to take a neutral stance on such an important topic. Our leaders need to step up and speak out for the members rather than let the politicians speak for us.

P. Jeffrey Phillippi, D.D.S. | It is my opinion that the NC Dental Society should strongly oppose a new dental school at ECU at this time!

Dr. Raymond Kessler | Students with a significant debt do not want to set up in depressed areas. They cannot make payments. So they will come to the larger cities. I heard there were 700 dentists in the Charlotte area. We do not need m ore of an influx.

Dr. John G. Buchanan | Our state only funds about 1/3 of the cost of the UNC School of Dentistry now. Starting another school and cannot be a positive move.

Richard R Pence DDS MAGD | When we can't even afford the pay to keep the top professors we have at one dental school, it seems like a bad idea to double the problem

Karen Bruggers DDS MS | While there is a need to address the manpower shortage in underserved areas, a new dental school is not the way to deal with it. The financial burden to the state with the already present difficulty in retaining qualified faculty, not only at UNCSD, but at all dental schools in the US a second dental school would spread the faculty available even thinner leaving all of the studentsin the position of being inadequately trained to take on the role of a health care provider to the standards the state should expect.

Ronald H. Nason Jr | If access to quality dental care for the citizens of N.C. is truely the goal here, this issue needs more thoughtful study.
