Name: Inga Katelari on Apr 23, 2012Comments: o Ήδη στην ΥΦΙΣΤΑΜΕΝΗ νομοθεσία ορίζονται ξεκάθαρα οι βασικές ελευθερίες των ζώων/σκύλων και είναι ξεκάθαρο ότι, παράβαση αυτών καθιστά κακοποίηση. Μάλιστα στην υφιστάμενη νομοθεσία ορίζονται και οι ποινές! Γιατί ΔΕΝ εφαρμόζετε κύριοι ειδήμονες την υφιστάμενη νομοθεσία και πιστεύετε ότι το πλαφόν θα επιλύσει ως δια μαγείας τα προβλήματα ευημερίας των ζώων; Δηλαδή εάν έχω ένα σκύλο δεμένο με κοντό λουρί στην αυλή μου, όλα είναι μια χαρά, ενώ εάν έχω 3 σκύλους στην οικία μου τους οποίους φροντίζω καθημερινά (ταΐζω, παίρνω βόλτα κ.λ.π), τότε τους κακοποιώ γιατί δεν έχω τα απαραίτητα τετραγωνικά μέτρα αυλής; o Τι σας κάνει αλήθεια να πιστεύετε ότι με το να βάλετε πλαφόν θα μειώσετε τις κακοποιήσεις; Με ποιο τρόπο ακριβώς θα στοχεύσετε στους ασυνήδειτους που στήνουν κλούβες στην μέση του πουθενά και αφήνουν εκεί τα ζώα τους ατάιστα μέσα στα περιττώματά τους, υποσιτισμένα και παραμελημένα, δέσμια πίσω από λερωμένα κάγκελα σε κλούβες μολυσμένες; Δεν μας μιλήσατε για παράδειγμα για πλαφόν σε κλούβες ζώων που διατηρούν οι κυνηγοί ή οι εκτροφείς!!!! Εν ολίγης, γνώμη μας είναι ότι αλλότρια είναι τα κίνητρα και τα συμφέροντα πίσω από την συγκεκριμένη νομοθετική πρόταση! Το πνεύμα και οι βασικές πρόνοιές της, ΟΧΙ μόνο ΔΕΝ επιλύουν προβλήματα ΚΑΙ ΔΕΝ ΧΤΥΠΟΥΝΕ ΤΗΝ ΡΙΖΑ ΤΟΥ ΚΑΚΟΥ αλλά τα εντατικοποιούν! Κάποιοι πιθανώς να θέλουν να κρύψουν την ανεπάρκειά τους και την μέχρι σήμερα ανικανότητά τους να εφαρμόσουν τις πρόνοιες των υφιστάμενων νομοθεσιών, αποφασίζοντας να πλήξουν τα ζώα και τα φιλόζωα άτομα! Γιατί εάν απλά εφαρμόζαμε μέχρι σήμερα την νομοθεσία περί μικροτσίπ, την ποινική δίωξη των εγκαταλείψεων και κακοποιήσεων ζώων, θα είχαμε λιγότερα αδέσποτα και οι φιλόζωοι ΔΕΝ θα αναγκάζονταν να έχουν υπό την ιδιοκτησία τους, ή την φροντίδα τους τόσα ζώα !! Name: Anne Macfarlane on Apr 23, 2012Comments: I would imagine that putting a limit on the number of dogs owned by it's Citizens is a breach of the Human Rights Acts....as set down by the European Parliament. Furthermore, this action is in no way going to address the animal abuse that is ongoing on a daily basis in Cyprus..nor the level of strays giving birth as a result of Cyprus having no spey/neuter education programme. Every day my Facebook newsfeed is full of photographs of abused, straved and dying animals in Cyprus....and other mediterranean countries. These countries are all part of the European Union and therefore should be abiding by the European Laws. It is clear that they are not...and even the appointed persons whose job it is to tackle abuse and animal welfare violations...are turning a blind eye to the pain and suffering. If the countries that are currently contravening the European Animal Welfare Laws want to remain in the EU then they have to start using the money that is gifted to them by the EU to put together a robust animal welfare programme that has severe consequences for those that breach it. Remove incompetent veterinary officers who clearly cannot do their jobs and put in place a policing authority to bring to justice the animal abusers. This must stop...and I must start to witness some positive images on my Facebook newsfeed. At this moment in time...Cyprus has shame! The people who are doing the jobs that others are paid to do are doing it because they care....this law is simply ridiculous....and....quite frankly a figure of 100 thousand animals euthanised is a scandal on an island the size of Cyprus. Get your act together or expect other member states of the EU to start demanding your removal from the Union.Flag
