Name: Jayne Jackson-Brown on Jul 17, 2006Comments: What a travesty for Peckham and all its recent and future regeneration if this outrageous proposal were to be sanctioned. It makes a mockery of proposed plans for the area and would be a grotesque insult to the majority of decent local residents, not to mention the most unforgiveable drain on already overstretched resources.Flag

Name: Victoria Mcara on Jul 17, 2006Comments: Peckham does not need a venue such as this - it almost guarantees further trouble on the main street, and already Elm Grove is used a late night cut through by drunks and noisy/fighting late night revellers. Also I regularly take the night bus to the stop just down from this proposed venue - as a single woman I do not need the added issues of being mistaken as a lap dancer - I have already been propositioned for "business" on this stretch of road, and such men should be deterred, not encouraged by such a venue.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 17, 2006Comments: as a local resident in bellenden i def would object to this proposal because of its effects in the local area and the type of people, activities and crime it will attract - as a woman i would feel threatened in my own local area and would not feel safe in the evenings on my own high street.Flag

Name: Rowena Hunter on Jul 17, 2006Comments: A massive effort has gone on in Peckham over the past few years to tidy up a part of London that for too long has had a bad reputation. Allowing a business such as this club in such a residential area serves to undermine the effort that the people of Peckham have put in to build up a community that is safe and respectful. Please do not give permission for this club.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 17, 2006Comments: I totally oppose this application on the stated grounds. This area feels unsafe for women to be at night and I think it will add to feeling insecure and unsafe there. Peckham is beginning to change for the better, dont ruin that for all of us who are making it so. Sue.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 17, 2006Comments: I use Rye Lane frequently for shopping. This would only encourage and legitimise sexist behaviour and would NOT benefit the area in a positive way. The area is trying to regenerate and encourage high street shops to return to Rye Lane. This would actively discourage most of the better quality shops which most residents are keen to see returning.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 17, 2006Comments: I have for an interntional children's charity and know how frequently children's rights are broken by children working in these places, also I have used the bus stop in the evening nes t to the proposed club in order to walk home along Bellenden Road coming home form Brixton and will no longer feel I have a safe option in alighting there.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 18, 2006Comments: Do we not think that Peckham needs clearing up and made nicer, isnt that why so much money has been spent on regeneration. A lap dancing club will only increase gun crimes in the areaFlag
