We concerned Citizens respectfully request that Wyalusing Township Supervisors vote NO on the request for approval for a conditional use permit for some or all of the following proposed industries: 1. Asphalt Manufacturing Facility 2. Wastewater Treatment Plant 3. Gas Fracturing Mud-Manufacturing Facility These are proposed for the area in Browntown near Wyalusing Pa off US Route 6, behind the area of Bluhm's Gas and The Sale Barn. Although we recognize that many changes have and are coming to our region and that the gas drilling operations will have a need for related industries, we do NOT feel the proposed facilities in any way will improve the quality of life for our area residents and we cant begin to guess the long term consequences of this kind of development in our township. In fact, we believe that changes have come to quickly to this area without proper consideration for the safety and well being of the residents. We feel these industries may have a deleterious affect on our property values and our health whether in the form of intolerable highway conditions, pollutants in the air and water from chemicals used in gas drilling operations or risk of accidents of various kinds. These concerns are not insignificant.
