Name: William Mcneill on May 5, 2003State: NCCountry: USComments: I live in an old farm house that is located a good distance from the highway, but not far enough to escape the boom car audio terrorists. They disturb me when I'm relaxing on my deck, when I'm reading, and most infuriatingly, when I'm trying to get to sleep. They are an outrageous violation of my privacy and well-being, and I want legislation passed that outlaws this vicious type of noise pollution.Flag

Name: Vicki Trout on May 5, 2003State: WACountry: USComments: These loud booming stereos are a form of assault. I am unable to listen to my own radio with my windows up in my car. Some are so loud that I can feels my lungs vibrating from the bass. This cannot be healthy. I would gladly pay up to $200 for a "Stereo Zapper" that either would cause severe interference or temporarily shut their stereo off. These people with booming stereos are rude and inconsiderate.Flag

Name: Carol Vanpell on May 9, 2003State: TXCountry: USComments: I am glad to see that other citizens are taking action against these despicable criminals who bombard us with their vile booming 24 hours a day. I started calling the Police on the Gang across the street from me five years ago. They get tickets but, I have to take of work to appear as a witness, so I lose money. Since they are drug dealers, they think it is a joke when they have to pay a small fine. They harrass me constantly with their supersonic booming, but I am not going to move like the other neighbors. This type of electronic equipment should be against the LAW! It is the duty of the government to protect its citizens form AUDIO TERRORISM!Flag

If you want to waste your time doing a petition like this at least have some common knowledge of the hobby. It's a hobby, just like collecting stamps. A HOBBY!!! Just alot more expensive that that. Am I going to get angy because someone is hoarding all the stamps I could be putting on my envelope Yes, that sounds dumb- just as dumb as your petition here. And why do you continue to call us thugs The definition " an aggressive young criminal ". I know plenty of OLD people just like you that like the loud music just as well.Flag

Name: Jeff Hess on May 11, 2003State: PACountry: USComments: The 17331 Zip code area is ground zero forus older folks. Boomers have become so terrorizing in just one summer (2002) that two local police forces are scared to death of them - and will do nothing about it, thus becoming worse than the cowards that terroristic thugs are. Michael Wright and others are quite correct when they talk of the physical harm that can be cuased. My former police chief (a crew chief in USAF during 'Nam) said "...now I understand why I saw people do such goofy things around extreme jet vibration." I have lost 500 hz of hearing in my right ear on 6/13/02 due to one of these vibroacoustic terrorists who have eveything. One thing I am doing is taking tag numbers and turning them over to insurance companies so rates can be raised on these "earholes". Most policies will not cover willful, intentional negligence. So once you have turned the boomers in, sue them and the car's owner for any assets they have. Once Mom and Dad realize they can lose their home and be bankrupt for the rest of their lives doue to their permissiveness of their kids, change will happen. Believe me when I say some police are lazy. Even now with the resultant arrest of soem boomcar druggies, local cops still let them get away with terroristic assault!!!Flag

Name: Carol Potter on May 11, 2003State: OKCountry: USComments: I live in close proximity to a county park. It attracts many of these boom cars and they drive up and down the street at all times of the day and night. On Sundays, they congregate at the park and all play their "music" until it is impossible to think. The sheriff's dept. has been helpful, but they just ask them to turn it down and as soon as the sheriff leaves, they turn the noise back up. I'm trying to sell my house because of the noise, but I don't know if anyone will ever buy it.Flag

Name: Adam Edwards on May 23, 2003State: GACountry: USComments: No one will take my subwoofers. Kids who have been killed have not been from loud music. It was from speed. Those who wish to go "boom boom boom" are no more annoying than the damn drivers who use cell phones when they drive. They kill more people in accidents than audio. So all of you who want to ban the sale of amps and subwoofers shut up. If you want the government to regulate what is sold and what is not, you need to move to a different country and give up your U.S. citizenship.Flag

Name: Brandi Altheide on May 26, 2003State: MICountry: USComments: I am repeatedly bombarded by boomer music in the apartment complex I live in. Before the noise moved in I was a healthy individual. Now I am depressed, sleep deprived, have high blood pressure and asthma. I am prone to colds and flu and have had enough of the sleepless nights. I have tried white noise and earplugs which don't work and I have now resorted to listening to my television through a set of audio headphones just so I can hear it. Yet the vibrations still rack my body and cause me grief. My hope is that someone somewhere will finally listen and help.Flag

Name: Kay Brown on May 28, 2003State: MICountry: USComments: I've despised BOOM noise since it began emerging in the late 80s. I was in my mid-20s back then, have suffered Tinnitius since 1984. It's not just the Tinnitus that's unbearable, but the noise, the bass, the boom that sends me into a dizzying, painful, nearly homicidal, sometimes suicidal spiral. We decent people who have respect for our neighbors and mankind have suffered enough of these arrogant, self-centered, evil punk audio terrorists. The noise has to stop! People are now dying over this, especially in neighbor disputes! Something has to be done!Flag

But,now since a new housing development moved into the area we have been flooded with boom cars.I have two children a 1yr old and 4 yr old.We get woken up at all hours of the night. The kids don't want to play outside because of the noise. We do have a noise ordinance in the area but our cops do not enforce it.This lack of disrespect from all who drive these cars is a shame.I just wish people would grow up! Name: Claire Young on Jun 3, 2003State: MACountry: USComments: My home has been ruined by Boom and Vroom. They are the sickest lowest most violent bunch of little cowards ever to have been awarded driver's licenses. It is imperative that Federal Law stop these constant wartime sounds in our country. There is NO SOLUTION except confiscation, huge fines, and strict screening at inspection time. Congress, get out of bed with torture manufacturers. Working people do not enjoy the low frequency explosions and "deep throaty rumble" of altered exhaust pipes. Let law-abiding citizens function. Let Children read. Let children nap during the day, and let us all sleep at night. Let us all vow to ELIMINATE BOOM CARS AND AUGMENTED EXHAUST FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH. America did not feel like a war-torn country until this hideous fad. Protect law-abiding people from fools and fools from themselves. You and I will pay for their hearing loss in the future--when they begin demanding state aid for their damaged health. Encourage anyone who has already lost hearing to sue the manufacturer of this dangerous garbage. Encourage them to ask all of their friends to join the lawsuit. Pioneer, Alpine, Sony--these companies have deeper pockets than the Pope. Go for it. They can't hear the booming on their estates and don't care about your feelings until it reduces their profits. Join a class action suit--for details see Noise Free America or Michael Wright's website. We all have the power to stop the terror.Flag
