Name: Anonymous on Apr 30, 2012State: MissouriCountry: United StatesComments: Noise pollution is a serious, ubiquitous, health, quality-of-life and crime issue. Boom Cars are an excessive, unnecessary and harmful, very-low- frequency noise assault and intrusion. The U.S. needs a national noise policy, according to Dr. Arline Bronzaft, and refunding the U.S. EPA's ONAC (noise-control office) would be a good start. Even law enforcement are uninformed and careless about noise pollution, their own noise/disturbing-the-peace/or harassment laws, and the impacts of noise on health or their communities. A recent U.S. Census says that noise pollution is the #1 reason people want to move and the #1 complaint they make about their neighborhoods. Dr. Bronzaft also states that enough studies have been done, it's time (for the U.S.) to fight noise. http://www.chchearing.org/noise-center http://www.noiseoff.org/document/bass.victims.not.alone.pdfhttp://www.grownyc.org http://www.lowertheboom.org/trice/ http://www.nonoise.org/library/qz2/Flag

This is a driving distraction to other people, and a complete violation of peoples right to drive down the road without being forced to listed to "Fuck yo mama!"Flag

Name: Richard Cribb Jr. on May 16, 2012State: South CarolinaCountry: United StatesComments: The problem of boom cars and loud car stereos is becoming so pervasive that it no longer be considered a matter for local jurisdictions to handle but rather a matter for state and federal regulation. Many localities do not have noise ordinances and there is often lax enforcement in those that do. People do not have a right to force their "music" on other people against their will or invade other people's homes and cars with noise. It is time that the people whom we elect to public office whose job it is to look after public health and safety do their jobs and do something about this growing public menace.Flag

Name: Steven Magyar on May 16, 2012State: PennsylvaniaCountry: United StatesComments: Living conditios are almost unbearable here. The problem is compounded by the fact that a lot of boom car activity is coming from troubled youth and is gang related in many cases The music itself if often vulgar too. Children play right along side it and complaints only compound the problem because he "Gangsters", drug dealers see it as a sign of disrespect.Flag

Name: Jannika Miller on Jun 11, 2012State: UtahCountry: United StatesComments: I bought a house in what seemed like a quiet neighborhood two years ago—had I known, before purchasing my home, that the neighbor had an obsession with playing his music in his boom-car... I don't think I would've bought this particular home. It's frustrating enough that the base that comes from these boom-cars disturb the peace outside of your home... but to have it enter your home, as the un-welcome guest it is, at literally ANY hour... it completely disturbs my peace. I am a pretty even-keeled person but I have found that the base from these cars invading my home makes me angry in my home—It's pretty bad when you feel the equivalent to "road rage" inside your own home. I have tried to deal with the situation in a mature manner by asking the individual to please turn his stereo off (at 11:30 pm!!) and I was told, "Mind your own damn business!" Sorry, moron, but you've made this MY BUSINESS! I feel that boom-cars should be illegal. I have a right to peace in my own home. I have a right to peace in my own neighborhood. Obviously, there's a total lack of consideration in this situation—these people don't care that they're ruining your peace, they don't care that they're being rude and disrespectful by forcing others to hear this infernal sound constantly. And I'm sorry but the police are absolutely useless in this matter. There needs to be a law about this!Flag
