I'm a Vietnam Vet with PTSD and the loud booming and vibrations of the infrasound causes me to have artillery shell, mortar shell, and 122mm rocket fire flashbacks. I often roll onto the floor and grab for a nonexistant M-16 and steel helmet.....(and I even take prescription meds to control it). Even ear plugs are ineffective.....and the sleep deprivation is complicating things tremendously.

We should also be aware of the fact that "boomers" are turning to obnoxiously loud exhaust systems to compensate for local regulations regarding music volume. Their point is to destroy the quality of life for the average, hardworking person. Noise is the default medium used by those who have nothing to offer themselves or society. It is their way to protest their own ignorance as if it were someone else's fault.

    Comments: i DO NOT wish to be added to the petition, rather i would like to state that, as one of the labled "thugs" or "boomers" that it is not a 'high' hearing or feeling bass, if it were a high then i would sit in my room at night in front of a pair of stadium woofers. Im sure i am not alone in feeling disgusted at the comments made about people who enjoy sounds and music in their cars, comments such as the following: "to stop these thugs who have no regard for other people's rights to peace and quiet" not true at all, i along with others i know with much more powerful speakers ALWAYS turn the volume down or off when in densly populated ares or when stopped at a traffic light "Talk about driving distracted!" shall we, target cell phones or bad drivers before you come after us. "In one instance a five year old girl died because the ambulance could not reach the hospital, because someone had to "feel the music". One death because of this is too many" i love this one, how can the full brunt of the blame be placed on the driver of the car perhaps the chain of events leading to the ambulance being behind the car could be blamed on the driver as well. after all, dont we comtrol fate as well as the volume "menace to their community" how can people who drive cars and listen to music be labled with the murderers and rapists that plague the inner citys of states accros the nation "the so-called "boomers" has been filled with hate and a general feeling of disgust towards these victims" who not ask us to turn it down easy as that, ive been asked before and i am more than willing to ablidge. i do not oppose regulation of the stereo system in a car, but before that happens, who not regulate the use of cell phones, regulate the driving privlages of the elderly or just plain bad drivers, regulate the things that NEED to be regulated before you come after us because we are abiding by the persuite of happiness by listening to our music at levels we enjoy -concerned listener

    Comments: I agree with this petition to the extent that when the noise is so loud that it interferes with my ability to get a decent lights sleep in my own house or ruins a normally somber or quiet event (funerals, religeous events, etc) it is an invasion of my privacy and should not be tolerated. I am not against a persons right to listen to music asd loud as he or she wants to, but not at everyone elses expense.

I often have things vibrate off of shelves and a cat that I cannot get out from under the bed for hours after one of these boom cars leave the apartment complex in which I live. I'm all for personal freedom, but why does it have to be at the expense of everyone elses sanity

As an ER Nurse I treated a woman who was killed by an on-coming fire engine because of circumstances of a boomcar preventing people from hearing the siren..also ..people who ride in boomcars are loosing thier hearing.
