Comments: Have any of you fought in a war Well if you have, then you precisly know what I am talking about... These are not terror machines.. they in no way harm you..(the complainers) However, they are music in fact, very low frequency.. but maybe your all so damn deaf from beatin off because evidently you need to get a life.. so look, appreciate.. or move to Canada... These Audio masterpieces reflect the devotion and time that comes from years of study and vaults of knowlegde. So I ask you complainers... When I see you walking down the street with your white polo shirt, holding a glass of wine between your fingers in that "oh so elegant manner and attempt to mislabel our Subwoofers.. and very difficult installations that have taken some people over 3 years to complete... well, the moral here is.. go GET A LIFE... YEAS>> GO CREATE SOMETHING FOR HUMANITY!! YES! good idea. NOW DO IT! and stop complaining about car audio.. geez..

I agree, that people should not ride around at full volume with their windows down.... but limiting equipment is stupid. Comments: There are places for these "boom cars." Some people are ignorant, such as yourselves and assume that every person with a high power car audio system is driving around trying to annoy the elderly. You couldn't be farther from the truth. Fact is, most of these young people are members of organizations that hold competitions to see who has the loudest system while following certain rules. Would you rather these kids use their money for drugs You probably would, because then you would have something else to cry about...

Comments: This is the most pathetic thing I have seen in a while. I am actually laughing right now. Stereos do inhibit drivers hearing, hampering their ability to hear emergency sirens, however, with ANY car out today, the sound deadening makes it equally difficult to hear a siren with simply all the windows up and the stereo off. I like how you termed it like a drug, that is funny. Get a reasonable subject to argue and go on with that, this is just sad.

Comments: Hey go F*** yourself, people have their dreams and habits. Some of these peoples dreams is to have a bumpin system and want to show it off. We dont bitch about all the annoying stuff that you do. Theirs nothing you can do to stop this either. You cannot stop the playing of music, and the "thmmppping" that you call it, its apart of the music, so if you take out the "thmmping" you take out the music too. You take out the music and their will be an outrage of very angry people. America is a free country and people can do whatever they please to a certain extent. They hold DB Drag events to try to minimize the number of people on the streets bumping the bass. People have a taste for Car Audio just like people have a taste for collecting items, bir watching, sailing... its all the same. We love what we do and we are going to continue doing what we love to do and you can't take our love away from us. PEACE

Comments: Yes this is a real problem where I live. We just had two 16 year olds killed on our street corner driving 80 mph late at night. Kids racing up and down the street exceeding speed limits and blarring radios. No one to enforce as we are a small town with no police force and the adjoining towns don't regularly patrol the area and a high crime area with the projects. Takes the firetrucks 30 min. to respond to a fire cause we are not on the 911 map they use. This lane we live on. Something needs to be done about this.

Comments: Hello, Im going to agree and disagree with some of the statements you made. You say that boom cars rattle ceramic and other things. If it really did, don't you think the car itself would literally fall apart while moving if it was doing this inside your house I do agree that it can be disturbing if done at the wrong times. I myself have spent thousands in my stereo and I would like to listen to it. I personally have gone out to the country and played it where no one could possibly hear it and before I knew it I had 3 cop cars beside me asking me what I was doing out at 10:00 on the weekend out in the country. I hear your argument that it stresses you. Well how about trains I live less than a block away from train tracks and its a lot louder than my stereo. I would love to have discussions over this topic. Comments: The "boom" cars and "loud exhaust" enthusiasts MUST BE STOPPED! We get bombarded by at least four of these menaces every hour of every day cruising through our nieghborhood. The low vibrations can be felt from a block or two away. Why is it necessary to construct vehicles so loud and disturbing And why do they feel the need to make everyone in their community their "victim" If they want to bombard themselves with the low bass crap and loud mufflers, then they should do it in their own home, in a room that is soundproofed so that it cannot be heard by anyone outside. Then, they can destroy their cilia and liquify their organs all they want. But, of course, what fun would that be They wouldn't be disturbing anyone. I guess it all boils down to having to make up for their shortcomings by trying to get everyone's attention through any means possible. That, along with the warped mindset of these punks, having no respect for anyone elses rights to peace and quiet, is a recipe for disaster. It's a sad state that our society has deteriorated to that allows a few idiots to constantly harrass the good, law abiding citizens. The government needs to WAKE UP and put an end to this crap once and for all!

Comments: Thank you, I was wondering if I was the only person to experience this, because everyone is so tolerant of this. Too tolerant! When I have asked nicely on four occasions for people to turn down their bass, only one of these responded positively. The others were very unpleasant experiences, that showed the rudeness and disrespect that has infected our culture to an unhealthy degree. I went on the web today, to find a site, because I am exhausted, have to go to work, but have had no sleep because my neighbors son across the street was blasting bass ni his car (he sits in his car outside the house), and then my neighbor next door, a very nice lady with two children, starting blasting me this morning at a very early hour. I have hated this trend since it started, it causes me stress and aggression. I have even thought about suing the manufacturers of the speakers and systems that feed the appetite for this. Its like a form of aural terrorism. Thank you for putting this site out there, I hope something can be done.

Comments: I have been evicted from one apartment where my 3 surrounding neighbors were allowed to play their stereos loudly at anytime of the day or night, and as soon as I complained to the manager, it became a constant battle. The constant audio terrorism sent me into constant rages and anxiety attacks, I couldn't keep a job, ran out of money, and 2 weeks before my lease ended, I was evicted. Fortunately, I began receiving SSDI, and moved to another apartment out of desperation. It was a small 1-bedroom apartment, and I gave that bedroom to my daughter while I slept in the living room. All was okay when my AC was constantly running, and I had no neighbor next door for about 2 months. But as soon as the weather cooled, and a new neighbor moved in, I was aggravated by the noise from the busy intersection I lived near, and by the new neighbor who cranked up the stereo. I as at that apartment for 4 months, then broke my lease and moved into a new mobile home owned by Sun Homes. I leased the place and was assured that even though I was going to be living on the main road going into the park, there would be no problems with noise. After living here for only a week, I realized I made a huge mistake moving here. Since the manager is clueless, I've bought a color surveillance camera, but the audio is horrible, so I hooked up a Radio Shack decibal reader / microphone and have it hooked up to my VCR to record the daily noise and chaos. I know the manager will do nothing about it, not even post flyers at each door of some 200 homes in the park to remind people that every resident has a right to "quiet enjoyment" of their home, and both residents and guests should turn down their stereos and attempt to fix their rusting and sometimes non-existent exhaust systems. I've only lived in this home since late October 2002, and I'm ready to move ONCE AGAIN. This goes on my credit record, and lenders are apprehensive to lend money to a person who has moved several times in a short period of time. I'm looking for a house in a quiet section of town, though it's still by a set of railroad tracks and a factory. But, after suffering the audio terrorism from BOOM cars for so long, an occasional train noise a few times a week would be a welcome noise! I have suffered from Tinnitus since 1984 after working in a factory for a year and a half, then as a cocktail waitress after that. I have suffered from depression and anger, have been suicidal, and even the noise from flourescent lights and metal hangers scraping on metal clothing racks drive me insane. I've hated noise since I was 20 years old, and detested the very first day I heard a BOOM car in my mid-20s. My heart raced, I cringed, and cussed, swore, cursed at the idiots who think they're COOL for aggravating people and disturbing the peace. Laws need to be tougher, people need to be educated about their right to quiet enjoyment, and we need to educate kids in junior high about the impact of high decibel, low frequency noise. Not just in text or speech, but by actual visual props. Silence is Golden.

Comments: Take this petition and shove it. People talking about loud radios killing people is ludicrous. Since when did playing your radio mean that you were gonna kill someone If that's the case, you better start banning concerts, and that means all of them. And that would include everyone in the music industry. Including those of you who listen to oldies that are still performing in the world today. They can play loud music at their concerts, so wont that eventually kill someone

Comments: To: Michael Wright, Dayna, & Bryan, Hi, THANK YOU for posting your excellent petition and the web sites, I will check them out and contact them soon. My family and I agree with you all 1000%, yes, 1000%! We moved to Arcadia, Louisiana-rural homeplace in 1983, the drive by shootings have occurred from 1992 from hunters still occur as of the last week of December 2002. First we were shot at consecutively, law "enforcement" did absolutely nothing to help. Three years later, we moved back to Arcadia, Louisiana rural homeplace, 6 months later a "hunting club" was set-up WITHOUT our approval 130 yards from our front door, they shot every type of weapon all day long sometimes at 1,2,3, & 4 A.M.! Soon after that, a "Bonnie & Clyde flea mkt" was set-up adjoining our property line approximately 110 yards from our home. This flea mkt. has perpetrated EVERY noise act with slamming of metal, helicopter rides that have flown as low as 25 feet from the rooftop of our home, this large junk helicopter rattled our windows, our walls with THUD, THUD, THUD, our pet rabbit climbed the sides of her cage, all at 6:30 A.M., yes he flew across so low, I looked up to see him wearing an orange jumpsuit! This helicopter on some occasions, flys in a circle around our home for up to nine consecutive hours, we wonder why his engine doesn't give out- all while circling over approximately 200 people at the Bonnie & Clyde flea mkt at approximately 60 to 70 feet from the ground! They have played extremely loud biker bash "music" that ECHOED through our home until 3:05 A.M., bikers threw their beer bottles and beer cans over our fence line onto our property! The police were called 5 times, law "enforcement" sat on the side of the state highway in front of our home and allowed them to "play" their extremely loud, obnoxious, and deafening "music", when we complained, the throbbing "music" played louder, then the screaming started! This was immediately after the biker incidents in Las Vegas, Nevada where the bikers shot each other, this past year 2001. We have filed 75+ police reports against the shooting gallery/gun fanatic/hunting club next door, along with contacting the Governor, Lt. Governor, ATF, FBI, Justice Dept.,etc, in Washington, D.C.! And I forgot to mention, they have shot over our heads, through our trees, and across our road! No justice in Arcadia, Louisiana concerning gun threats/noise and boom boxes that travel at one, three, and four A.M. that wake us up, call the police Forget it, a victim might as well dig a hole and crawl in a foxhole, waste of time calling police here. Yes, we were also told the same by the police,"we don't have enough man/woman power." Taxation without representation, I feel. This has all occurred for the past 10 + years, Domestic Terrorism is here it's called boom boxes, helicopter noise, biker bash noise equals disrespectful people! If you EVER need help with your cause, please keep us informed We completely understand how you both feel Bryan & Dayna, we feel sick to our stomach at hearing any loud noise of any kind. I hope we all live to see the day when justice is served on noise abusers, then I can sleep at night. Thank you again. Sincerely, Rex Stuart Citizens Against Noise Abusers(CANA) P.O.
