Comments: I totally agree with this petition. The economy is making it hard enough to afford daily expenses. The last thing we need is to allow someone to come in and raise the rates to park, which I believe will happen, because it would be hard to regulate it. Also, the quality of service would go down and parking is already a challenge at times. The way I see it, this would only cause a lot of problems to a system that is running fairly smoothly and cost effective.

Comments: If this university would stop creating top-level positions out of the blue that really do nothing but show a "face" of IU to a target audience, and would simply let the staff DO their jobs, millions of dollars would be saved, and all work would be done better. There is no need to outsource any services on this campus, we simply need fewer "generals". Everyone knows that it is the "troops" that get the work done...

Comments: The university was unsuccessfull privatizing rental car operations and bookstores. How would this be different? We get paid lower than minimum income levels ( 7 years manager position) and pay more than one week salary for parking already !!!

Comments: When the bottom line is the main concern--as is too often the case with privatization--quality is very likely to deterioriate. Indiana University is a public institution and owes the best possible quality to the public.
