To the International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation of Peoples of the World, We, Signatories, want you to cancel the nomination of Vladimir Putin for the Nobel Peace Price because of his tacit validation of his other awful human rights policies againt LGBT citizens in Russia. We consider, for the reasons hereabove, that Vladimir Putin is in contradiction with the essence of the Noble Peace Price which is given "to those who shall have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind. - Signatories ----------------- More informations : http://instinctmagazine.com/post/wtf-vladimir-putin-nominated-nobel-peace-prize Russian President Vladimir Putin has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize? The man whose vocal support of homophobic legislation has his LGBT citizens being hunted like dogs has been nominated for a Nobel Peace prize?? Bills are on the table NOW in Russia to take children away from their LGBT parents and Putin has done nothing to denounce them--and yet he's being nominated to receive one of the world's highest honors? Despite actively working to roll LGBT rights back into the dark ages, Pink News reports: On Wednesday, the International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation of Peoples of the World nominated President Putin for his efforts in preventing US military again against Syria. The organization is on the list of those approved to make Nobel Peace Prize nominations and according to Vice President Beslan Kobakhiya, a letter of recommendation was received by the committee on 16 September. It stated: “Being the leader of one of the leading nations of the world, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin makes efforts to maintain peace and tranquility not only on the territory of his own country but also actively promotes settlement of all conflicts arising on the planet.” Tranquility on the territory of his own country?? Maybe ask a member of the LGBT community how "tranquil" things are in Russia right now. While Putin's (and anyone's) efforts to avoid war in Syria are worthy of applause this sort of honor is tacit validation of his other horrendous human rights policies. Let's hope it ends here. Unbelievable.
