District 181 is proposing late start days as "part of the plan to restructure how we use time to give teachers more time to work together to improve instruction." Late start days reduce the total number of full student attendance days and take away instruction time from our children.
We are requesting the Board and District employ other means to give teachers the collaboration time they require for the Advanced Learning Plan. We can have differentiated learning and teacher collaboration for the new curriculum without late start days and without taking time away from our students.
If you oppose late start days which take instruction time away from our children in the 2013-2014 calendar year, then we urge you to have your voice heard and sign this petition!
