Comments: When you purchase a home in a certain community a big part of that decision process is taking into consideration the schools your children will be going to. The school boards ability to modify infringes on your rights and ability to help choose how your child is educated.

Comments: The Blended plan does not address the county's goal to provide membership relief for elementary schools in the area with forecasted membership at 100% of capacity or higher. This plan creates an overcrowded situation for 4 years (per county's projections) at Gayton ES.

Comments: This option breaks up current neighborhood communities along the Church Road corridor and sends smaller neighborhoods to a middle school that is farther away and not part of the Short Pump community. We do NOT support this plan!

Comments: It is upsetting to think that after a 3+ mile bus ride children, that went to Carver, will be driving past our home on their way to Pocahontas... and my children will be driving nearly 6 miles to Byrd. Pocahontas is just over a mile from our house. On top of that, they will be dumped into a school without the majority of the peers they have grown up with... I don't see how the blended plan makes sense financially for the HCPS (shipping children all over the county) and it's certainly not what it best for our children's academic success.

Comments: The blended option overcrowds Gayton. Options 1 and 2 do not overcrowd any school. There is no need to create a problem when you have two options that are not detrimental to any of the schools.
