We, the undersigned, represent a diversity of disciplines, personal experiences, and political viewpoints. However, as faculty members responsible for creating a welcoming community for all, committed to eternal questioning and the vital interplay of ideas, we are united in our opposition to the institution of an ROTC program on the Columbia campus.

Vincent Lungwitz, United States4 years ago Comments: I am a student, not faculty. I study Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, a program strongly believing in non-violent forms of change and conflict. By any means could I justify any links between my university and the military. Columbia students can join the military if they want to anyways. The university should not support it and remain a free-spirited place, especially in light of the ongoing wars and the need of much more criticizm on the military's role in it!
Dennis Dalton, Political Science, Barnard College, Virgin Islands, U.S.6 years ago Comments: As a professor of political science at Barnard since 1969, I have been concerned about this issue for decades. I strongly support this petition and welcome the opportunity to express opposition to ROTC at Columbia University.
