Dear,

To my surprise I noticed that articles of the Linacre Quarterly are indexed in the PubMed Database.

A short inspection of the articles on

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=%22Linacre+Q%22[jour],

made clear very soon that this journal does not produce articles in the academic, objective tradition to help progress the medical sciences, but generates pseudo-scientific articles with the sole objective to influence public and scientific opinion, with a very conservative and religious intention. Some articles are contentious, others are outright discriminating and violate human rights.

What to think of the following article titles, some quick examples:

- "Contraception and abortion: Fruits of the same rotten tree?"

- "Bad medicine: "Contraception for adolescents"

- "An unusual recovery from traumatic brain injury in a young man."(with treatment and rehabilitation and intercessory prayer to Saint Luigi Guanella, this patient was able to recover close to baseline from a Glasgow Coma Scale of 7)

- "What I am learning about You, Jesus."

- "Homosexual inclinations and the passions: A Thomistic theory of the psychogenesis of same-sex attraction disorder."

Firstly, could PubMed clarify why it has decided to include articles of this pseudo-scientific religious journal and is Pubmed not, by making this content widely available, indirectly complicit in spreading the Journal's recalcitrant messages?

Secondly, I urge PubMed to no longer index articles from The Linacre Quarterly and remove the previously included ones, for the sake of health sciences and for the credibility of the database.

with kind regards,
