   Comments: Just like the hysterics gnhaced the term "global warming" to "climate change" a few years ago, the "climate sceptics" are now being called "climate realists". Remember that from now on, ok?I believe there are several issues, but firstly NONE (that's zero) of the things you've mentioned in your question the 1998 cooling data, the emails or the 30,000 signature petition has been debunked at all. There are clearly people who have a lot of power, influence and cash to lose if too many people start to question the theories on anthropogenic climate change. That's my biggest problem with it. The climate change hysterics will say "oh but that scientist used to work for **** (insert irrelevant, complicated ties to an energy/logging/oil company here)" but they don't realise that the very scientists opinion they hysterics rely on is no better. The "Climategate" emails I believe you refer to, has certainly taken a huge hit to the validity of climate science all over the world. The CRU provided virtually ALL of the world's climate data including to the IPCC and here in Australia to the Bureau of Meteorology. It's so serious that Professor Phil Jones (director of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit) has been stood down pending an investigation into the altered data and false documents. It is really remarkable how some people refuse to let go of this phony AGW nonsense. Whatever happened to common sense and outrage over being misled? Even a casual observer knows that in science, consensus means absolutely nothing. That no one with the truth on their side tries to stifle dissent. No one with the truth on their side tries to withhold information. No one with the truth on their side destroys data.Considering there is growing evidence against the theory of anthropogenic climate change, and everything for the theory so far including the infamous "hockey stick graph" has been debunked, what other evidence do you want? I'm not going to provide you with science papers or give you answers to the whole debate. You need to do your own research, just like I did and ask questions with a critical frame of mind. Don't look to our political leaders on either side of the debate either because they have no idea, they get their policy ideas from the same people perpetuating the same "climate change hysteria" that I am trying to stay clear of it clouds the debate.Speaking of debate, there has never been adequate debate of the issues surrounding climate change. Most people, the "realists" included, actually would be happy to reduce pollution but the biggest issue is HOW? What is the most effective way, and the most economical way? The Australian Greens voted against the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme bill because they believed it is ineffective at reducing emissions see the online commercial from Bob Brown below. My biggest issue with the scheme is that it favours heavy polluters, gives the financial rewards for actually increasing emissions while destroying jobs, agriculture industries and "working families" already doing it tough financially. When a majority of senators Liberal, National, Greens and Family First ALL defeat the bill in parliament it really needs closer examination and some other alternatives put forward. It wasn't just the Libs (or conservatives) that voted against it!I consider myself a thinker, I am not going to watch "Fox News" and make up my mind, I don't listen to Kevin Rudd and Penny Wong and make up my mind based on that either. I use a vast array of details and information from a wide array of sources some of them scientific, some of them purely "logical" . but at no time is the science on this issue really settled. Whether it's man-made or not, if we need to do something, fine let's do it but let's get it right first. I don't want to pay trillions of dollars into a useless scheme that makes the greedy companies richer. Do you? All I want to do is get the alarmists to calmly look at the information available and think, is the scheme being proposed going to actually DO anything constructive. The answer clearly, is no.I'll wait for you to reach that conclusion too but please don't be too long, we have a climate crisis to address here! lol
