Background

The Broward County Commission approved and placed two, 1/2 cent sales tax increases on the November ballot. If both initiatives pass we will pay 7 cents on each dollar we spend, up from the current rate of 6 cents per dollar.

Our thoughts and actions

These proposed tax increases are wrong for Broward County and should be soundly defeated.

By signing this petition we are joining together to defeat both sales tax proposals. We will work from now until the election to make sure they do not pass. If the voters decide to approve the tax we will hold every agency accountable for properly spending the $320 million dollars generated each year for the next 30 years.
