We the people of the Township of Saddle Brook, respectfully request a question on the next election ballot referring to the removal of benefits for current council members and lifetime benefits for members serving 20 years or more. We do not believe that in these economic times, it is at all necessary for us as taxpayers to foot the bill for volunteers to recieve health benefits for themselves and thier families free of charge. Until such time of the vote, we request that all health coverage for these individuals be stopped immediately as they are currently being provided in violation of the law. Please follow this link to read for yourself the white collar contract referring to benefits provided by the township and who they are to be provided for. Council members and Mayors are NOT considered fulltime employees of the township of Saddle Brook.
