President Rahm Emanuel is adding an extra hour to the school days in Chicago, Illinois. He believes more hours in the school day means less gangs on the streets(-_-). Kids are outraged by this idea. Do you really think making students dislike school more because they are in there longer will get rid of crimes? The mayor says our country isn't as intelligent as others in science so he wants to spend more time on that. Does that really matter? Is he afraid the other countries are going to jeer at us? Do we need to understand photosynthesis in deep thought to enter a war? Teachers will not be paid for this extra hour. Everyone disagrees with this idea. Is this really a democracy? This idea isn't for the people.
