The UK government and environmental agencies are ignoring the concerns of the local community and attempting to complete the exploratory drilling for oil with a hidden agenda to explore for shale gas extraction less than 1 mile from the centre of Balcombe in West Sussex. The exploratory site is too close to the community and also next to the main London to Brighton trainline, within 3 miles of the Ouse Valley Viaduct and the Ardingly Reservoir which supplies drinking water to over 85,000 people. With a mad dash for gas the authorities are ignoring the fundamental safety and environmental concerns of drilling in Balcombe and we need your support to make them wake up and realise that drilling in Balcombe is unacceptable and unsafe.
