The recent fire drills have caused serious problems for students and student satisfaction is at an all-time low. I am proposing that the university bring in with immediate effect a ban on fire drills between the hours of 11:00 pm and 08:00 am, this ban should also cover any period where exams are taking place, Some students had exams and practical assessments on the morning of the fire drills and you can appreciate that the students were probably up late revising and then woken up exceptionally early by the fire drill sirens. No consideration has been taken into place with regards to how sleep deprivation can impact on grades and student well-being.
