Name: Anonymous on Nov 25, 2006Comments: Thank you for alerting me about this issue. My husband's bone marrow was detroyed by the benzene in the gasoline he worked around right here in Sheridan. There are things within our community that are extremely hazardous to our health.Flag

And I don't think that up by the landfill would be an appropriate place either, since I work in that area. I feel that the city planners and county planners need to work more closely together in their long term development for this city - right now you have asphalt plants next to offices and hotels. I have to breath the fumes from the asphalt plant. After watching the coverage on the local tv - I don't have much confidence in the local fire department being able to take care of things if there is a spill. I also don't like the fact that Sue from EMIT kept saying "it isn't likely" to all the things that were brought up as concerns. Wasn't Three Mile Island considered to be "state of the art" in its day Anything is possible!Flag

After following this project in the news, I have not yet heard anything that would make me feel better about having this dangerous material being handled and transported so close to where I work every day and so close to other residential and business areas. Every day I drive by the uncontrolled intersection on North Main and hearing that it would continue to be uncontrolled is completely unacceptable to me. I donFlag
