Synod is Broken facebook page Nov 28. 2012 | Comments (0)
THANK YOU to everyone who has signed and helped spread the word about this petition: I've set a target of 500 signatures and we passed the 100 mark in only three days, with the first 50 within 24 hours.
The strength of feeling about this matter is clear from the comments being made: Synod is broken by what the Dean of Durham Cathedral calls its "Byzantine synodical rules of engagement"; and in the words of Sir Tony Baldry, the Second Church Estates Commissioner, this isn't an issue that the Church can afford to 'park'.
I've now set up a facebook page to support the petition: Synod is Broken: Calling for an Urgent Review. If you're on facebook, please share it, feel free to post relevant links and expand on any of the comments you've made here.
Finally for now, if your friends and colleagues feel that they can't sign this petition, please point them to one of the other petitions out there; there's a roundup on the Thinking Anglicans website: Women Bishops: online petitions.
