Both in Scottish football (S.F.A.) and the Scottish Government, much has been made in recent years of the unacceptable anti-catholic sectarian chants made by the fractions of the Rangers support. There is a law now against sectarianism, enforced by the police. The Scottish Government and the S.F.A. have both commented on how "Rangers" sectarianism is unacceptable in modern Scotland. The press at every turn in recent incidents of this nature have covered it widely and in a high-profile manner. This has seen Rangers as a club warned, and punished in connection to sectarianism. It has resulted in a stigma unfairly solely attached to the Rangers support and the club it's self within Scotland and Europe. WHY is it then that when two Aberdeen PLAYERS make sectarian remarks about followers of the protestant faith that faith is unprotected by the very same Government, S.F.A and Press? A BBC report classified the incident as "pope remarks"....... .....I see it as a clear case of sectarianism against the Protestant faith and majority of this country and I expect by signing this petition to see further condemnation of this incident by the previously interested authorities and press, AND further investigation by both the police and the S.F.A. themselves into this matter.
