Keep NMSU Student Family Housing safe for children! We believe that sppedbumps need to be installed on all streets in Student Family Housing on NMSU campus. The posted speed limit is 15 mph but there are too many vehicles on Student Family Housing streets that travel at speeds way beyond the posted speed, at times of the day when children are outside playing. While it is the parents responsibility to moniter their children, it is also the responsibility of drives to follow the law and drive the speed limit. There is a limited number of campus police that are able to patrol the streets, and that number must also take care of the remainder of the campus. We ask that speedbumps be installed to force drivers to slow down in areas where children play.
