Name: Darrell Elmore on Oct 2, 2007Comments: Cost, in particular, prevents many needed self protection from doing so legally for lack of funds. When people have to decide between medicine and food, they often just ignore other niceties like car insurance and so on - this is one place everyone should be equal within the law and have an equal opportunity to do so within economic constraintsFlag

If one was qualified (both in proficency, and a clear background check) to get a license, certainly the same qualifications still exist.Flag

Name: Travis Billingham on Oct 3, 2007Comments: The fact that the permit and licensing process takes so long and has so many rules is somewhat rediculous. A law abiding citizen cannot take his concealed gun into a 7-11 without going through all the hoops, but some thug with intentions to rob/kill or whatever is not going to take this into consideration. Let's make it EASIER for people to protect themselves. And the qualifying is a joke. To make people re-qulify is dumb too. Thanks.Flag
