We, the parents of softball players at Northern Little League, petition the Board to create a game schedule which places limits on the time in which games are played on weekdays. Our children, of any age, can no longer continue to play games until 9:45 pm. We petition that all games end no later than 8:30 pm. There are a number of possible solutions. The one we recommend is outlined here. There are several practice fields located below the main softball field and they are seldom used. The Board can solicit a small group of volunteers to prepare one of the practice fields to be used for t-ball games. The t-ball field can then become the minor softball field. Major softball games can continue to be played on the main softball field. Baseball has four fields counting the t-ball field. This alleviates over-scheduling for our young boys. It is time for softball to be given the same respect. It is time for school and the well-being of our girls to become the top priority. The Northern Little League Board of Directors has managed in the past to find the necessary funds to make improvements that are needed. We are confident that the same effort can be given to this project.
