School Choice is an Essential Part of Educational Success Across the United States Remember it is your tax money They are your children You should be able to decide where they go to school The best way to influence the school board and administrators of a school is to decide whether or not enroll your child at their institution. The New Jersey Interdistrict Public Choice Program Act of 2010 was a good start, but the New Jersey Legislature needs to work to improve the educational opportunities for our young people. Right now some New Jersey counties have as few as one elementary school identified for school choice, and in some cases quality public educational opportunities do not even exist around the areas in which we live. Public Charter Schools offer high quality educational opportunities to all New Jersey children with zero tuition costs to parents. As a public school, charter schools must obey by all NJ Education Statues and New Jersey Board of Education Administrative Codes. Furthermore, charter schools which do not meet excellence standards are required to be closed, unlike district public schools which can operate in failing status in excess of 15 years in New Jersey. Beyond the fact that most charter schools have long waiting lists, multiple New Jersey counties have zero charter schools, and multiple New Jersey counties have no New Jersey charter high schools available to their students.
