Name: Ravindra on May 12, 2011Comments: NIKON D50 is one of the most sold models of Nikon brand. It it\'s a really well done DSRL camera. Now that the D40 is next to be released there are some features that should be added via a firmware update. These are the most requested features: 1) The new Nikon D40 and the other Nikon D models EXCEPT THE D50 have the function called -WHITE BALANCE FINE TUNING-. 2) The D40 (and other models) allows also to customize one (or more) buttons (the Self-timer button in D40) while the D50 DOESN\'T (the self-timer button could be used in the same way of the D40). 3) Some models (ie D80 and D40) allow to do incamera editing (image overlay, filters, increase some colors saturation, etc). The D50 now it\'s in the middle of the Nikon product line and it lacks features that are common in all the other models. It\'s simple, in terms of programming, to add these features and it will be an answer to the requests of MANY users (especially regarding the white balance tuning). ADDING THESE FUNCTIONS WON\'T DAMAGE THE D40 MARKET!Flag

Name: Ysied Gillette on Jun 19, 2011Comments: Dear Nikon, As a faithful customer of Nikon products, It would be nice to feel appreciated, and have a firmware update release for my Nikon D50. I have seen many other Nikon customers around the web asking and wishing for the same. Multiple petitions being signed and other companies such as Pentax, and Canon just waiting in the wings for all of us to be feed up, hand the towel with Nikon and move over to another company/product that is more willing to show their customer appreciation by providing them with the tools needed to utilize their products and continue their loyalty. Seriously, Why should I buy another Nikon, if I would be fearful of going through the same thing I am going through with this one.Flag
