After the fall semester of 2013, Japanese will no longer be offered at Coastal Carolina University. The last class will be offered for the fall and that's it! And it's 120 so most people cannot get into it. This is not fair for the incoming freshmen that would like to take this class. It's also not fair for upperclassmen who would like to actually learn Japanese rather than just taking it to get the language credits needed.

Brian Yakel, United States1 year ago Comments: If Coastal is supposed to be promoting diversity, than why are we removing all of the Asian languages? All that will do is isolate people and make it harder for the exchange students to adjust.
Christian Barrett, United States1 year ago Comments: I am a student of Hanson-sensei's, having just completed the 130 level course at Coastal Carolina University. She is the most dedicated and skilled professor I have had on this campus and it is a shame that most will be unable to take her for further Japanese language study.
