| 108 | Joelle Ruby Ryan | This is an excellent proposal to change current policy. I sincerely hope that the NH DMV will work to implement this policy change as soon as possible to promote fairness and safety for the transgender community. We face too much discrimination. This change will help to lessen discrimination against us. |
| 109 | Peter Welch | An important and necessary change in licensing procedures for transgender individuals in the state of New Hampshire. |
| 110 | Anonymous | Please read the statement above. Please understand that the Transexual community of driving tax paying citizens and any who need an ID suffer gravely due to this requirement. Step up into the light, and change the policies so that TG/TS individuals can lead their lives in greater dignity though unable to afford the expensive standards of care. Many of course want nothing more than to go through EVERY standard, of course but the COSTs are so prohibitive. A little flexiability on the DMV's part could go a long way - without creating fraud. For example ONE LETTER from a therapist or DR. vs the whole RLT year of care..
thank you for your consideration. |
| 111 | Linda | It's just the right thing to do. |
| 112 | Barbara Ann Coombs | Yes, This is very important for those of us with GID and who are living in and beyond our one year real life test. I migt add that the cost is not the only limiting factor, others such as age, health and family obligations are contributing factors. to a delayed transition. |

| 119 | Paula Spink | I believe this to be a very important cause. |
| 120 | Vicara Svehar | The cost of SRS is extremely high and the mental anguish of not getting it can be debilitating. But having the "right" marker on one's driver license would greatly help to alleviate the pain. As one who cannot afford SRS at this time, I was financially able to get an orchiectomy so that I can still transition to my complete female self. We all know that what you have "between your legs" doesn't make you who you are! Sincerely, Vicara Svehar |

| 127 | Jassy Timberlake, M.Ed., LMFT | I believe the current DMV requirement to be highly discriminatory and support the suggested changes. There is no logical explanation for the current requirement. Please support our transgender citizens by changing the policy and allow them the dignity and freedom of gender expression they deserve. |

| 130 | Lou Benson | This is truly a cruel policy. Let's have a bit of compassion for folks who have a hard enough row to hoe. |

| 135 | Kate Freitag | To add, on a personal note:
I have changed my gender marker on my driver's license and it has only eased confusion in situations where it need be shown.
The department of motor vehicles should not act as the doctor here. Doctors should be abl to diagnose one with GID and treat patients as necessary. Nobody will be harmed by those who are legitimately diagnosed and make such a change on a piece of paper.
Last I checked, gender had very little to do with my ability to see the road ahead and drive safely. |

| 140 | Melinda Harris | Please give all trans people the dignity of allowing them to change their I.D. (including driver's license) prior to SRS. My partner is a trans male-to-female, and in the state of CA, she was able to accomplish this while she was still pre-op. Thank you. |
| 141 | John Otto | Without a driver license or state-issued ID card, it is often impossible to successfully live in one's new gender role. The law should be changed. |
| 142 | Joselyn Harris | |
| 143 | Krys | No discrimination, please, against those in the world with GID on limited means. Income should not effect the sensitivity of the government, nor should it expose people to traumatic and embarassing humiliation. |

| 145 | Danni Lee Leonard | New Hampshire is the Missisippi of the North, if your a TS-and Manchester NH is the "redneck jamboree"!. of NH. If your license says "Male" if your a TS female, expect the local rednecks or the local police to come down hard on you in this area. |
