Spring 2009 Dear City Leader, You have the power to shape the future of the next generation! We urge you to: 1) Uphold the City's investments in San Francisco's next generation: * Stop attacks on the City's Funds for Children & Public Education; * Protect city programs most critical to families'survival & economic opportunity, like childcare, afterschool, academic support, and violence prevention programs. 2) Support our "A thru G Equity Plan" to Graduate All Students Ready for College & Career -Not Poverty or Prison: * Raise expectations for students of color and increase their opportunities for support and success. * Pass a new policy making "A thru G" coursework the default curriculum and high school graduation requirement in SFUSD. Don't foreclose on the future of the city's children and youth! Invest in opportunities for the next generation. Sincerely,
