Comments: Today, I took a walk up to the new Tesco's store. Walking allowed me to take my time and observe the traffic from all directions. Upon this I could see traffic congestion from Llanidloes Rd, Pool Rd, Kerry Rd and Canal Rd directions. It really concerns me to how much pollution will affect us all, as the traffic is not flowing through town efficiently, most vehicle drivers are lucky even if they manage to get through town going at a speed of 5mph. People are going to get even more fed up with the traffic issues concerning Newtown, and possibly avoid the town altogether.

Comments: i think there are far to many trafic lights in the town, i think there was no need to take away the roundabout by mcdonalds and replace it with lights, i think the lights are a major factor wuth traffic choas in the town

Comments: During all the Tesco build when we still had a roundabout the traffic worked well. Why do our council have to fix things that are not broke!! The one and only solution is to reinstate a mini roundabout. My Mother was coming back home today from Tesco's wanting to come over the bridge - she was stopped by the lights to let traffic from Kerry road and the bridge to go through - but surprise surprise no traffic either wa,y this is the daft system of having lights there. PCC need to get their act together asap and sort it out. What will it be like at Easter with all the holiday makers trying to get to the coast. Might be quicker for them to go to the East coast this year!!!

Comments: It just my opinion here Lembit, have you noticed how many single occupancy cars are clogging up the roads? What’s wrong with folk that they can’t share a car to work these days. If they want a vehicle all to themselves then by a 50 or 125cc scooter. Why can’t they use bicycles to go from one side of town to another (majority of them need some exercise)? Why are can’t the government offer tax relief for companies who may buy minibuses for transportation of employees to and from their homes? During a holiday to Rome I found out that the main reason there are so many Scooters there is because of the high cost of taxing large vehicles in the city.

Comments: The money cost to industry trying to get through Newtown must be tens of thousands as a gateway into mid Wales. Restore the island before a SERIOUS accident happens, plenty of near misses so far. With lack of care from Kerry turning right!!!!!

Comments: The current traffic situation is an absolute disgrace. A great deal of taxpayers money has een spent on new traffic lights which rather than improve the situation, have heightened it. Yet another mess at the hands of Powys County Council. Its a joke they refused to let the store open till the roadworks were finished.

Comments: How are we ever going to attract businesses to town if the transport infrastructure is so apalling. Unless there is inward investment regarding industry, transport and support for small retail concerns soon all we will have left of Newtown in the coming years is rubble and shite!
