Keep newspapers in the college commons!

Rice administrators have decided to discontinue newspaper subscriptions in college commons( New York Times, Houston Chronicle). The threat of economic hardships is nothing compared to the threat of becoming an ignorant society if we allow this change to happen. As an institution of higher learning, we need to support newspapers as a vital and necessary aspect of a thinking society. The minds they can change and the insight they share are worth much more than their relatively meager price tag. Save the newspapers! Sign the petition!

I would, however, recommend you looking into the Wall Street Journal as an alternative choice, even if just the online version. I strongly believe that the Wall Street Journal would enhance student business knowledge and better prepare them for interviews and a future career.
