New Line Cinema is proceeding with a remake of John Carpenter's classic "Escape from New York." The producers are contractually bound by an agreement with creator John Carpenter, to keep the name Snake, to keep the eye patch, and - this is real - ensure that the character will "always be a bad-ass." There is no one better suited to dawn the iconic eye patch then Supernatural's Jensen Ackles. He has the voice, the attitude, the look, and he is even short enough. He will be able to keep the spirit of Kurt Russell's Snake Plissken alive in a way that no other actor will.
