Name: Suzanne Brace on Dec 11, 2008Comments: As a white 60 year old woman who came of age in the civil rights era, this wonderful resource has been an invaluable and all too rare window into the African American perspective of current events. It is appalling to me that this is the way that NPR is deciding to handle a budge shortfall. AND it will certainly make me think twice when being asked for support in the future. REINSTATE this program and you will send an important message of inclusion - otherwise NPR will continue to be a largely white, "elite" (and I hate that label) source of information. VERY disappointing.Flag

I listen to the program most evenings, and sincerely hope that you will reconsider your decision to cancel the show.Flag

Name: Patricia D. Galloway on Dec 12, 2008Comments: I am a 60 year old African American (female) high school Guidance Counselor. News and Notes is my favorite NPR show. I have listened to NPR for the past 30 years (starting in Ithaca, NY). Please continue to offer this perspective on the news. I am so tired of CNN and the cookie-cutter format of repeating items "ad nauseum". News and Notes is refreshing and informative.Flag

Name: Akil on Dec 12, 2008Comments: Houstonians could listen live to News & Notes on KTSU 90.9 FM at noon M - Th. I enjoyed the show and its hosts. But I especially liked subscribing to the podcast feeds for each segment during the show. The podcasts were handy in case I missed the live airing or to listen to the Friday show that KTSU did not air. Hopefully we can save News & Notes because its the only current broadcast show that I can relate.Flag
