Name: Eric Brown on Dec 10, 2008Comments: This is sad news to say the least. Having been someone frequently asked to appear on the "Bloggers Roundtable", I feel that the cancellation of the show is a great disservice to the African American community. This gave many a reason to listen to NPR that would not have otherwise. I personally encouraged many to listen even when I was not on as a guest of the panel. Farai did an amazing job with the show and it saddens me to know that she will no longer have a platform to present a voice to a very important segment of our community. It is my hope that NPR will reconsider their decision.Flag

NPR would drop from my pedestal to reach below the levels of FOX.Flag

Name: Tandaleya Wilder on Dec 10, 2008Comments: News and Notes is well loved in Miami on WLRN. Farai is a smart and engaging host who asks all the right questions without sounding pretentious. The show gives our community and our youth a voice and provides insight for others into the African American experience. The blogging and web elements are also innovative. Please reconsider canceling News and Notes. This show deserves to continue.Flag

Name: Antona Smith on Dec 11, 2008Comments: I urge NPR to reconsider its commitment to being NATIONAL and keep News & Notes. In 2008, it is important to have this voice heard that offers intelligent discussion of the Afro-American, African, and Afro-Caribbean experience in the Americas. This is vital to offer sound and balanced discourse as we prepare to inaugurate our first African-American president. There must be this commitment to diversity.Flag
