Newport, Oregon: Dissent Is NOT Disloyalty

The petition

We, the undersigned, pledge to boycott the merchants of Newport, Oregon until sponsors of the "Loyalty Days" celebration recognize that various organizations and groups within the state may have legitimate disagreement with the foreign policies of the U.S. government.

Censorship and banning of Veterans for Peace is especially onerous as these men and women have demonstrated their true love of their nation through their sacrifice, no less than any other veterans.

To deny these veterans the freedoms they sacrificed to protect is despicable and a betrayal of the Constitution all veterans are sworn to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

In this instance Newport has shown itself to be a domestic enemy of our Constitution, and should hang its head in shame.
