Newmachar United Amateur Football Club (NUAFC) has recently been thrown out of the Aberdeen Amateur Football Association (AAFA) due to 2012 / 2013 application form being delivered 8 hours late.

 There are various mitigating circumstances for this over-sight however that AAFA executive committee members, voted in to represent amateur teams, nurture and foster amateur football in the region whom were present at our Division 1 relegation play-off match and talked with Newmachar committee members on this final day for applications knowing full well we had not submitted an application does not sit well with us. Recieving a call the morning after to advise we were late therefore seen as having resigned falls short of expectations.

 As there are several clubs previously interviewed for admission into the league and that the association is at maximum capacity (90), our club will therefore be dissolved.

There are various theories regarding why this has been allowed to happen and why the Association Secretary and others were hindered in doing the right thing however these are best left for a more formal forum.

NUAFC - Founded in 1920 and a member of this association forthe last 25 years need the support of as many clubs / individuals as possible to avoid this injustice and secure amateur football in our village for years to come.
