Comments: A new viewing gallery would be great. I also know it would make profit if there was a small cafe or bar.

Comments: i (as a kid) always visited the airport when it had the roof terrace, i spent many an hour there !. It was a darn shame when they took it away. It was only when i recently visited Belfast Aldergrove and saw their indoor viewing gallery that it brought it to home what it used to be like at NCL !! I would visit the airport more often if they had some sort of viewing gallery, even outdoors. This also means i buy food and drink from the airport shops, buy a magazine etc etc, it's money in their pocket in the long run !! Bring back a viewing gallery, like most other airports do ! Andy

Comments: I belive that there should be a public gallery at the airport. There are many though out Europe some are free and other you pay a coule of euros for a decent days spotting. This of course would bring additional revenue to the airport.

Comments: The general public as a majority and aircraft enthusiasts as a minority deserve a facility to view aircraft. This may be to wave off relatives etc, or simply out of interest. Most airports in Germany for example have viewing decks, which are highly utilised by the public and enthusiasts, and I think it part and parcel of what an airport is about.

Comments: Provision of a viewing area/gallery for both casual viewers and family/friends who are seeing off flyers creates a welcoming atmosphere at an airport. This is sadly lacking at Newcastle currently.

Comments: I agree there should be some sort of a viewing area, look at all the main airports in this country ie Manchester, Heathrow & now Stansted is now building a visitors centre. It makes sense that we should get something in return for paying our taxes to the airport.

Comments: It is time that airport authorities realised how many people like to watch planes, not just enthusiasts but many parents and grandparent like to take children to see the air port and importantly the planes. Future generations may be inspired by access to a good viewing area so plaese provide an area where this can be done.

Comments: I am an aircraft enthusiast andI would like to see some dedicated viewing facilities at Newcastle Airport, not only for my fellow enthusiasts and I but also to enable others to wave off family members and friends who are travelling. For most people, especially those with children, Aircraft, like steam trains for example, are an attraction so viewing facilities would benefit not just enthusiasts. Also, to have those wishing to view all in one location would be better from a security and policing point of view. Thank you.

Comments: Having been spotting at various locations around England & Europe I have noticed a general decline in facilities to the viewing public. When the viewing terraces where first used it was to encourage people to visit airports and get interested in aviation, I know this aspect from the public hasn't changed so why have airports Having been to Newcastle I struggled to get good viewing spots and I am sure I strayed close to getting told to leave. Please try to persuade the airport to provide better viewing facilities.

Comments: Understanding air travel and respecting its role in the modern world we live in comes from visiting airports and seeing its operation. Respect comes from knowledge and to encourage a new generation of pilots, engineers, ground crew, air traffic controllers etc etc access to airports should be encouraged, not restricted. A canny wee terrace or viewing facility would be a step in the right direction.

Comments: Viewing terraces at airports can be a great tourist attraction as well as visited by Plane spotters people flying off on there holidays like to see the planes with relatives before they fly. Also people waiting for there loved ones or friends returning to the airport can provide a supplemental income to the airport in the form of entrance charges or just from the sale of refreshments. Such a terrace should be as a minimum self financing with extra income to car parks and local transport etc. All airports in Germany have one as stantard and the one at Frankfurt is listed as one of the top tourist attractions in the Country.
