The petition

Ubuntu means "I am what I am because of who we all are."

Ubuntu cola is made using FAIRTRADE sugar grown in Africa.

It provides collaboration for sub-Saharan communities to secure a decent livelihood by working together on helping to make a great-tasting drink which pays a fair wage.

These communities are among the poorest in the world.

By enabling fairly-traded sugar to be bought from these communities, children will be able to go to school, the health and welfare of the peoples will be more secure and the livelihoods and overall development will improve.

On top of the simple act of fair sugar trading, 33% of Ubuntu’s tax-free profits are sent to African societies to run development programs.

This money will be invested in environmental and social progress of local African businesses to help sustain their improved livelihoods.

We need YOU the students of Newcastle to encourage YOUR Union to start selling a Fairtrade alternative cola drink alongside existing products.
